First Independence Day Parade in America

Parade

If I was to say that the first Independence Day Parade in the country annually occurs in Gatlinburg would you believe it?  You should because it’s true!  For 39 straight years Gatlinburg’s Independence Day Parade has started at the stroke of midnight on the 4th (night of the 3rd) of July.  There is always an average of 100,000 people at the parade and many of those people go ahead and put out their folding chairs a day early to reserve their spot.  Check out this video if you don’t believe it!

The parade is a one of a kind and is well worth the trip to see!  There is also a Fireworks Finale on the night of the 4th at 10:00 pm at traffic light #3.  The Clarion is conveniently located for all Independence Day events and festivities, especially the parade.  The hotel is located on the parade route and our city side room private balconies give guests the opportunity to watch the parade from the comfort of their own room!  If you’re interested in the parade you can find more information here.
